the sensory reduction hoodie is built for anyone navigating the world with limited mobility, motor skill challenges, or sensory sensitivities. I wanted to move past basic "utility" and create something that feels effortless to wear?

The Sensory Reduction Hoodie is showcased through both its physical form and its technical foundation. On the right, the Adobe Illustrator file displays the pattern pieces, mapped to exact measurements for the "easy to open" Morito tape and seamless iron on construction. This digital blueprint ensures functionality of the garment, allowing for a perfect transition from a screen based design to An INCLUSIVE textile.
Morito Tape for easy access Fidget Magnets I drew inspiration from the Fibonacci sequence a natural structure that brings order and balance to the world around us. This way of seeing reflects how neurodivergent minds connect patterns and information, revealing beauty, intention, and clarity within complexity.

The Sensory Reduction Hoodie started with a simple, human question: how can we design for ease without sacrificing style? Instead of designing from a distance, I weeks in one on one workshops and interviews with people across a diverse spectrum of physical and mental disabilities. We talked through the small, everyday frustrations that most designers overlook like the "tactile distress" of a scratchy internal seam or the genuine struggle of a traditional zipper.
Those conversations became the heartbeat of the Compos Mentis line. I took those firsthand insights and translated them into using technical solutions like "easy open" Mag tape and iron on seams for a completely smooth interior. The goal was to prove that inclusive design can and should look sylish. It was a proud moment to have that vision recognized by the experts at Cotton Inc., who awarded the project the prize for Line Conceptualization.
